Senior Secondary Programs

SEDA is an applied education provider that has developed a unique teaching and learning model that embraces an experiential and applied pedagogy with strong partnerships, particularly in the sports industry. The model has seen SEDA establish over 30 partnerships with industry (including national and state sporting associations and elite clubs). These partnerships have provided students with first hand industry experience through an applied curriculum and flexible delivery model matched to student interests.

The SEDA model has been implemented across a number of secondary schools incorporating the senior secondary qualification with Vocational education and training, connected to industry partners. SEDA delivers the senior secondary model in Western Australia and the Northern Territory and through a range of partner and licensing agreements at the following schools:

Sport and Recreation

Course SIS20115 – Certificate II in Sport and Recreation
Intake Direct Entry
Course Description This qualification is designed for Year 11 students who have an interest in community activity, sport and recreation programs and want to commence a career or pathway in the sport or community recreation industry.
Duration Over 37 weeks, training will be delivered face to face 9:00am – 3:00pm 1 day per week. Students also complete supervised workplace training one day per week.
Career Opportunities Upon successful completion of the SIS20115 – Certificate II in Sport and Recreation, students may be able to gain employment in the following occupations:
• Program officer
• Recreation officer
• Activity operation officer
• Sport and recreation attendant
• Community activities officer
• Leisure services officer
Further Study Options Students may use this qualification as a pathway to complete the SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, or the SIS40115 Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation or pathway to the SIS50612 Diploma of Sport Development with SEDA Group.

Course SIS30115 – Certificate III in Sport and Recreation
Intake Direct Entry
Course Description This qualification is designed for Year 12 students who have an interest in community activity, sport and recreation programs and want to commence a career or pathway in the community or recreation industry.
Duration Over 37, weeks training will be delivered face to face 9:00am – 3:00pm 1 day per week. In addition, supervised workplace training will run for 1 day per week, from 9:00 am – 3:00pm
Career Opportunities Career Opportunities: After successful completion of the SIS30115 – Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, students may be able to gain employment in the following occupations:
• Sport/Game Development Officer
• Program Coordinator/Manager
• Event Management
• Competition Manager (Local)
Further Study Options Students may use this qualification as a pathway to continue and complete the SIS40115 – Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation or pathway to the SIS50612 – Diploma of Sport Development with SEDA Group.
