The SEDA Model –

The SEDA model has been implemented across a number of secondary schools incorporating the senior secondary qualification with vocational education and training, connected to industry partners. SEDA delivers the senior secondary model in Western Australia and the Northern Territory and through a range of senior secondary partners under licensing agreements in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.



SPORTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS –


Course SIS20115 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation
Intake year 2019
Course Description This qualification is designed for Year 11 students who have an interest in community activity, sport and recreation programs and want to commence a career or pathway in the sport or community recreation industry.
Duration This qualification is facilitated over 36 weeks (including school holidays) from February to November 2019. Training will be delivered face to face one day per week between Monday and Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm. In addition, supervised workplace training will run one day per week from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
Career Opportunities Upon successful completion of the SIS20115 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation, students may obtain employment as one of the following:
• Program officer
• Recreation officer
• Activity operation officer
• Sport and recreation attendant
• Community activities officer
• Leisure services officer
• School programs officer
Further Study Options Students may use this qualification as a pathway to continue and complete the SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, the SIS40115 Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation or pathway to the SIS50612 Diploma of Sport Development through SEDA Group.

Course SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation
Intake year 2019
Course Description This qualification is designed for Year 12 students who have an interest in community activity, sport and recreation programs and want to commence a career or pathway in the community or recreation industry.
Duration This qualification is facilitated over 36 weeks (including school holidays) from February to November 2019. Training will be delivered face to face one day per week between Monday and Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm. In addition, one day each week is allocated for completion of SBAT hours with the specific day varying between class groups via the community work day (CWD).
Career Opportunities After successful completion of the SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, students may obtain employment as one of the following:
• Sport/Game Development Officer
• Program Coordinator
• Event Coordinator
• Competition Coordinator (Local)
• School Sport/Program Officer
• Entry Level Coach
Further Study Options Students may use this qualification as a pathway to continue and complete the SIS40115 Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation through an alternative registered training organisation or pathway to the SIS50612 Diploma of Sport Development through SEDA Group.

TALENTED PLAYER PROGRAMS –


Course SIS30115 – Certificate III in Sport and Recreation
Intake year 2019
Course Description This qualification is designed for Year 11 students who have an interest in community activity, sport and recreation programs and want to commence a career or pathway in the community or recreation industry.
Duration This qualification is facilitated over 69 weeks (including school holidays) from February 2019 to June 2020. Training will be delivered face to face one day per week between Monday and Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm. In addition, supervised workplace training will run intermittently throughout the course.
Career Opportunities After successful completion of the SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, students may obtain employment as one of the following:
• Sport/Game Development Officer
• Program Coordinator
• Event Coordinator
• Competition Coordinator (Local)
• School Sport/Program Officer
• Entry Level Coach
Further Study Options Students may use this qualification as a pathway to continue and complete the SIS40115 Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation through an alternative registered training organisation or pathway to the SIS50612 Diploma of Sport Development through SEDA Group.
