Receive high quality training to perform First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

HLTAID003 Provide first aid

This course is delivered with a dedicated SEDA Group trainer through a combination of methods including face to face and self-paced online. Students are required to provide their own computer and internet access to complete the self-paced online. All remaining essential equipment and facilities will be provided by SEDA Group to complete this course.

The assessment of this course involves a variety of methods which include: written task, online questioning and role play. The assessment of your overall competence will be undertaken by a qualified SEDA Group assessor and students will lodge and obtain feedback on assessments directly with their assessor. SEDA Group provides a fair and equitable assessment process that includes the option of an assessment re-sit. If a student is not competent after two re-sits; a fee will be charged and students will be required to re-enrol in the course.

Study Pathways
After successful completion of this course, students may decide to undertake further study in advanced first aid, remote first aid, advanced resuscitation or emergency first aid courses with an external provider.

Employment Pathways
SEDA Group have confirmed, via industry consultation, that the following job roles are appropriate outcomes upon successful completion of this course:
• First aid officer
• First responder

The face-to-face training and assessment class for this course is facilitated for a duration of 6 hours. Class availability is detailed in the calendar below. This course also contains online training and assessment which must be successfully completed prior to commencement of the face-to-face training and assessment class; this will approximately take 10 hours for a student to successfully complete.

There are no pre-requisites required for entry, however, to be eligible for this short course individuals must be able to satisfy the following:
• Physically and mentally capable of providing first aid;
• Computer or laptop with internet access
• Students under the age of 18 must have gained parental/guardian consent to undertake the course.

Should individuals have concerns in relation to injuries, physical disabilities or other reasons that may limit in their ability to undertake exercises and/or online training and assessment; they should contact SEDA Group to discuss their concerns prior to enrolment.

The indicative total course fee is $139.

• The full course fee will be charged for a re-enrolment into a unit of competency
• Should a student not successfully complete all components of this course within 30 calendar days of the face to face training and assessment session; the student will be withdrawn from the course and will need to re-enrol should they wish to undertake the course at a later date.
• A fee of $50 will be charged for a credential re-print
• A fee of $75 for a credential and student file archive search
• Course fees are non-transferable

Where SEDA Group is unable to deliver the training due to the following circumstances:
• The course is cancelled;
• The course is rescheduled to a time or location that is unsuitable for the individual;
• The individual is not given a place due to the course being full; or
• Closure of the RTO.
Individuals will receive a full refund of all fees that have been paid.

To be eligible for a refund, SEDA Group must receive your Student Withdrawal Form at least 5 working days prior to the face to face training and assessment class (minus an administration fee of $50.) Teach out: Due to this unit of competency having a superseded status, students must successfully complete prior to the unit of competency end date (13/10/2021) to be issued with a statement of attainment. If the unit of competency is not successfully completed prior to the 13/10/2021, students will be withdrawn from the unit of competency.
