SEDA Scholarships
SEDA, along with our industry partners, are proud to offer a number of scholarships for students wishing to study in 2026. Examples include:
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship
Multicultural Scholarship
Refugee and Asylum Seeker Scholarship
Women in Sport Scholarship

Value
Scholarships may be offered to cover full or partial tuition fees at the discretion of SEDA Group and the relevant partner.
Scholarships will not cover:
- Non-tuition fee.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid which is to be completed through an external provider/s under a fee-for-service arrangement.
- International Study Tours.
- Other program related costs.
Eligibility Criteria
All students who wish to apply for a scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Commence SIS50321 Diploma of Sport and BSB50120 Diploma of Business in Block 1, 2026 (Sport & Business Program).
- Satisfy SEDA’s admission requirements.
- Be an Australian Citizen, have refugee status, hold permanent residency in Australia or be applying to live in Australia permanently.2

Scholarship Application Process
To apply for a scholarship, please express your interest to the Student Enrolment Manager when enquiring about your relevant Sport & Business Program. If you accept a letter of offer, you will be required to complete an online application demonstrating your ability to meet the criteria.
The deadline for scholarship applications is 5pm AEST Monday, 29th October.

Scholarship Selection Process
The Scholarship Committee will be made up of at least three relevant staff members of SEDA and the relevant industry partner.
Applicants will be assessed on:
- Online application as outlined above.
- One academic and one personal referee.
Awarding of scholarships will be made on the following criteria:
- The impact the scholarship will have on the applicant’s future career in the sports and business sector.
- The ability of the applicant to share a passion for their local sports club, sports interests or sports and business career aspirations. This can be demonstrated by online communications such as blogs, podcasts, social media, previous work, volunteer or student experience or any other relevant dreams or aspirations.
Preference may also be given to applicants who have experienced long-term disadvantage due to any of the following:
- Experiencing financial hardship; and/or
- From a non-English speaking background (NESB); and/or
- Having a disability or long-term medical conditions; and/or
- Experienced other educational barriers and/or personal hardship, including but not limited to carers, sole parents.
Conditions
Scholarship recipients must commit to the following:
- Positively represent SEDA Group and program partners.
- Complete all aspects of the program, while making the most of the opportunities presented through the scholarship.
- Participate in promotional activities of the scholarship, including media and events.
MADALAH Scholarships
SEDA proudly partners with MADALAH Limited to provide scholarships, mentoring support and leadership programs to First Nations students.
For successful applicants, MADALAH tertiary scholarships cover $8000 of the Sport & Business Program tuition fees. Other payment options are available to cover the remaining fees. MADALAH tertiary scholarships open in October each year.
Sport & Business Program Scholarship
The Purple Hands Foundation, Fremantle Football Club, Perth Wildcats and SEDA Group (SEDA) are proud to offer one full scholarship to a First Nations student who has applied or will apply for a WA-based, Sport & Business Program powered by SEDA, alongside a MADALAH tertiary scholarship, in 2026.
Value
- 100% bursary for tuition fees when combined with a MADALAH scholarship (separate application)
- Support for industry work placements and projects at the Purple Hands Foundation, Fremantle Football
Club, Perth Wildcats and/or partner organisations - Mentoring support through the relevant industry partner/s, MADALAH and SEDA
- Support for transition to higher education and/or
employment through SEDA and industry networks - SportWest student membership
Scholarship does not include $395 non-tuition fee or
learning materials (e.g. laptop).
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Reside in Western Australia while enrolled in the program
- An Australian citizen and/or permanent resident
- Completed Year 12 (WACE or equivalent)
- Scholarship recipients must commit to the following:
- Positively represent SEDA, MADALAH and relevant industry partner/s
- Complete all aspects of the program in which they are enrolled, while making the most of the opportunities presented through the scholarship. This may include promotional activities that will
be adjusted to the applicants skill and comfort.
Scholarship Application Process
To apply for the scholarship, students must submit an application letter along with one academic and one personal referee to scholarships@sedagroup.com.au.
The one-page application letter should cover their:
- Ability to meet the scholarship criteria (outlined above)
- Reason(s) for applying for the scholarship and what they would like to achieve in 2026
- Academic background and achievements
- Involvement with the community of which they
identify and/or the community where they live.
Applications close 5pm Monday, 3rd November.
Next Steps
- Applicants should apply for a MADALAH tertiary
scholarship at madalah.com.au when they open on Monday, 6th
October. This application is specific to MADALAH and separate to the process described above. Applicants for the Sport & Business Program scholarship will need to be successful in applying for the MADALAH scholarship to be eligible. - Applicants eligible for both scholarships will be
notified to arrange a formal interview - Interviews will be conducted by a panel consisting of
SEDA representatives - Applicants will be advised of when they can expect to have an outcome confirmed at the conclusion of their interview.
