I was fortunate to be given the opportunity by Perth Glory to volunteer at both the A-League and W-League games. I was assisting to run the Glory fan zone, being George the Gorilla (Perth Glory Mascot), working in the merchandise shop, assisting with the pre-game flag waving, and delivering the half time mini games. Throughout my experience, I have been able to expand my personal network by meeting a range of new people from Perth Glory staff to stadium staff which has helped me to explore the different roles in football. I have also received causal employment with their community team where we run school clinics to help young children engage with football as well as develop fundamental communication and problem solving skills. The highlight of the experience was being able to meet with the Perth Glory players and staff. It is a rare opportunity being able to volunteer at a professional sporting club like Perth Glory.
