SEDA Group (SEDA) offers industry-based diploma programs providing you with the opportunity to build your networks, learn from leading industry experts, and provide a pathway to a range of careers.

The Empower Her Future Program will connect you with mentors and experience through a 300-hour internship* with one of Business in Heels’ extensive networks across a range of industries including Technology, Cybersecurity, Energy, Finance and Retail Technology. 

Business in Heels works in collaboration with SEDA Group RTO: 22503 on marketing and promotional services relating to the recruitment of prospective students for this program. *Internship is unpaid.

40 weeks, including 28 weeks delivery over 4 x 7-week study blocks and 4 x 2-week internship blocks

The Empower Her Future program will be delivered three days face-to-face, including two hours mentoring, per week. 

This is inclusive of an eight-week internship (work-integrated learning) conducted over 4 x 2-week blocks.

Units of Competency

The BSB50120 Diploma of Business will comprise the 12 units of competency listed below.

Focus: Develop skills to lead workplace communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative environment.

Rationale: Communication is a foundational skill that underpins all management activities, ensuring students are prepared to interact effectively with teams and stakeholders from the outset.

Focus: Learn how to allocate, monitor, and optimise resources to meet organisational goals.

Rationale: Resource management builds on effective communication by introducing practical management skills for handling operations, making this a logical next step.

Focus: Develop skills to plan, organise, and manage workplace meetings efficiently.

Rationale: Meetings are a key organisational activity, and this unit ties communication and resource management into structured team collaboration practices.

Focus: Learn to define, control, and manage the scope of projects.

Rationale: Starting with project scope sets a clear framework for subsequent project management and risk assessment units.

Rationale: Positioned after scope management to help students implement and manage projects within a defined scope.

Focus: Identify, assess, and manage business risks effectively.

Rationale: Risk management is logically placed last as it complements project planning and execution, ensuring projects are delivered with minimal risk.

Focus: Analyse and capitalise on marketing opportunities to enhance business growth.

Rationale: Introduces a marketing perspective, providing context for sustainability and corporate responsibility in a business setting.

Another key component of the Empower Her Future Program is the MyPLAN, MySKILLS, MyCAREERTM that is delivered as part of the SEDA Model.

You will:

– develop a detailed career plan and professional portfolio,

– earn badging as you progress through levels demonstrating key skills and attributes identified by industry partners,

– undertake internships through Business in Heels industry networks,

– explore career pathways and acquire transferable skills in real workplace settings.

Admissions

Selection into the Business in Heels Empower Her Future Program is based on an online application and interview process.

SEDA embraces diversity and applies ‘reasonable adjustments’ to cater for individual needs, including for students with a disability.

Please see below entry requirements for the Empower Her Future Program:

  • Successfully complete a Pre-Training Review (PTR), and Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) test issued by SEDA
  • Attend an interview and provide evidence in support of your application
  • Individuals under the age of 18 must have gained parental/guardian consent to undertake the program

The VET Student Loans program assists eligible students pay tuition fees for approved vocational education and training (VET) courses. A VET Student Loan is a loan from the Australian Government that helps eligible students pay their tuition fees. Your loan is repaid through the Australian tax system when you reach the minimum income threshold for repayment.

In 2025, the VET Student Loan program will be available for the BSB50120 Diploma of Business with SEDA Group. A VET Student Loan will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements. In 2025, the maximum VET Student Loan amount (course cap) for BSB50120 Diploma of Business is $12,557.
